Yakety Yak!!! Teens aren’t talking back!!!

Shocking as it may sound…The Club’s teens are jamming to some good rock ‘n’ roll instead of dishing out your stereotypical teen attitude! The talented bunch of rock ‘n’ rollers, who have been introduced to some of history’s greatest strings through Guitar Hero is one of the Club’s most popular programs, and growing.

NIMBUS’ lead guitar player, Adam Howe, has collaborated with our Boys & Girls Club since 2004 and is credited with harnessing the teens’ rock ‘n’ roll interest. Through his dedication and desire to allow for opportunities to Club members, we have proven to our Foundations and supporters that this has definitely been a valuable investment. The lessons are taught on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:00 pm every week at the main clubhouse.

Joel DiBiase, our long-time Club member, who has benefited from our other unique programs such as Comedy Club was recently interviewed regarding the Teen Rock ‘n’ Roll program. When asked why music, his response was “I love music and being able to play the songs. The way Adam teaches makes the songs easy and I enjoy playing the guitar because I can relax and listen to music without an ipod/radio.”
