4th Annual Mile of Quarters Set for Saturday, Sep. 11
Going the Extra Mile for our Kids

How many quarters does it take to make a mile, laying them end to end? The answer is 63,000!The Boys & Girls Club of the West Valley will hold its fourth annual “Mile of Quarters” on Saturday, September 11 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Westfield Topanga Mall. This is the only event of its kind and each year hundreds of children and their families spend time placing the quarters to complete one mile (5,280 feet). People can purchase one foot of quarters for $3.25 or sponsor a Mile Marker for more. A DJ will play music and there will be children’s entertainment and dignitaries throughout the day. A few sponsorship opportunities are still available.

Denim & Diamonds and California United Bank
Golf Tournament

Join supporters of the Boys & Girls Club of the West Valley and others for a fun-filled evening under the stars for 5^th annual Monte Carlo Night, “Denim & Diamonds” on October 2, 2010, hosted by Nancy Cartwright, the voice of Bart Simpson on television’s “The Simpsons”.

The Western-themed event will take place at Cartwright’s Northridge estate (address to be provided with reservation), benefiting both the Boys & Girls Club of the West Valley and Devonshire PALS (Police Activity League Supporters).

The evening will feature live music, dancing, gourmet barbeque dinner, open bars, cigar lounge, and professional-style casino games. The entertainment portion of the evening will be hosted by Tom Kenny (voice of SpongeBob SquarePants).

Additionally, a true poker tournament will be held, co-hosted by Jerry Yang (2007 WSOP Main Event Winner) and Mary Jones (2006 WSOP Ladies Event Champion). A number of other professional poker players are scheduled to attend, including major tournament winners and Poker Hall of Fame members.

The top five players of the No-Limit Texas Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament will earn seats at a satellite WSOP tournament, with a $300 buy-in; $150 for non-players.

Numerous celebrities are scheduled to attend, including: Kirstie Alley, Camryn Manheim, Dane Cook, Jose Conseco, Donny Wahlberg, John Travolta, Kelly Preston, Dorian Harewood, Anne Archer, Yancy Arias, Andy Buckley, Kate Linder, Michelle Stafford, Anthony Anderson, Micky Dolenz, and many more.

California United Bank's 4th Annual Golf Tournament

Club de Cuba Attendees Enjoy Carribiean Fiesta while Raising $85,000 for Club Programs

The Club raised $85,000 at its Club de Cuba event on May 7, 2010 at the Warner Center Marriott! Attendees mingled while sipping specialty cocktails and viewing auction items, feasted on delicious food, cheered auction winners and gambled the night away.
