The National Boys & Girls Club Movement
The Boys & Girls Clubs of America, founded more than a century ago, is a national network of more than 4,000 neighborhood-based facilities annually serving some 4.6 million young people, primarily from disadvantaged circumstances. National spokespersons include actor Denzel Washington and statesman Colin Powell.
Mission Statement:
The mission of the Boys & Girls Club of the West Valley is to inspire and empower all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.

Founded In 1995 at Calvert Elementary School; moved into its own building at 7245 Remmet Ave., Canoga Park, in 2004.
Number of Children who are Members 2,500, between the ages of six and 17 years.
Cost $20 per year per child; the Club charges additional fees for full-day programs such as Winter and Summer Camps. No child is turned away for lack of ability to pay.
Number of Children Who Use the Facility Each Day 125 at the Club; an additional 500 children are provided after-school activities at Blythe Elementary School, Reseda Elementary School, Canoga Park High School and Tierra del Sol.
